The Pokemon TCG’s latest set – SWSH08: Fusion Strike has released! This is the Pokemon TCG’s largest set to date with a whopping 284 cards to collect. It most notably introduces the “Fusion Strike” archetype to the game, a new form of fighting style that gives players the chance to build new decks and play styles, and it definitely delivers. We will be looking through some of the most notable and valuable cards, and if you have any you want to buy or sell, then Vendito Marketplace is the place to be.
Fusion Strike style
Mew VMAX
The main Pokemon of the set, Mew, is the main attacker of the new Fusion Strike cards. Mew cards normally have an ability that allows them to use the attacks of Pokemon on your bench, but you must meet the energy cost. This Mew VMAX, however, with only two [C] energy, can use the move of any Fusion Strike Pokemon on your bench at no additional cost. Mew’s popularity and versatility top every other card in the set. Definitely aim to collect Mew V or Mew VMAX for your deck and your collection!
Genesect V
No Fusion Strike deck is complete without at least 3 Genesect V because of its ability. Each Genesect will let you draw cards until your hand has as many cards as you have Fusion Strike pokemon. With a full bench, that means you can draw until you have 6 cards! The Genesect V engine is one of the best draw engines currently available; look out for the secret art of Genesect V, pictured here; it’s sure to fetch a good price. With Vendito, you can list your extra Genesect Vs and we can handle all delivery!
Cross Switcher
Fusion Strike also sees the return of the supporter Guzma…sort of. This trainer lets you swap your opponent’s active Pokemon with one of their benched Pokemon while letting you switch at the same time. You must play two Cross Switchers at the same time or the card does nothing. Despite the limitation, Cross Switcher can earn you a win in desperate situations. Buyers stay alert for any Cross Switchers that show up on Vendito, players will want to own at least 4 for deck crafting.
Secret Rare Cards
Despite the size of the set, there are few secret rares up for grabs. When you do get a secret rare, though, it is more likely to be one you want to pull. This set continues the trend of secret Energy Cards with Fire Energy and Grass Energy. Flaaffy is a reprint of the Evolving Skies Flaaffy, but full art and shiny. This marks Flaaffy’s first appearance as Shiny in the TCG, so Flaaffy fans rejoice! The last notable secret rare is one you definitely want. Espeon VMAX, also a reprint from Evolving Skies, earned a Secret Art variant, and the art is incredible. Espeon is a fan favorite and the card both is difficult to pull and looks stunning, so it’s sure to boost the value of any collection. If you pull an Espeon, you can sell it on Vendito and get instant value out of your card!
Many Notable Cards
The set lives up to its title of largest set; there are numerous cards you want to look out for. Collectors and Single Strike deck players will want to look out for the new Gengar VMax, its dark typing and move set is sure to gain a lot of traction in the upcoming meta. Gengar has a Secret Rare Alternate Art, so it is always a good card to pull. Rapid Strike players will want to include Inteleon VMAX to their plans. Its VMAX ability is power and gives Rapid Strike decks a new angle to play around. There are many more cards to craft with, collect and pull, and many packs waiting. When you get your packs opened, make sure to buy and sell your singles on Vendito to complete your Master Set, your deck list, or just to earn some value from your pulls.
